Welcome to Teal Camp – a beautiful family home on idyllic Deer Lake in Northern Minnesota.  Deer Lake, nicknamed the Lake of Changing Colors for its brilliant water, is one of the cleanest in the state – some families on the lake still drink from it!  Our family has been spending summers here for generations, and our beautiful, antique-filled cabin is a cozy escape from city life. This summer my son made a short movie explaining just what makes this place so special – take a minute to watch it, and you’ll see all the love we have for this house.

Our home has seven double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, making it perfect for family holidays, reunions, or company retreats.  An enormous, sun-filled kitchen and dining room is the heart of the house.  A large pine table seats fifteen for meals cooked on our five burner stove or large grill.  Two dishwashers and two sinks make cooking huge meals for family easy.

An enormous log living room features a big stone fireplace (firewood provided) a piano, a reading nook, and a fully stocked games cupboard for rainy days.  On beautiful summer evenings you can dine outside on our large kitchen porch, or sit in our fully enclosed screen house which features a porch swing, outdoor couches and a large poker table.

But the real star is always the lake.  Deer Lake’s crystal blue waters are naturally spring fed, and the lake is great for fishing and water sports.  We provide three kayaks, and can help arrange the rental of a motor boat.  Our all pine sauna makes for a real treat on clear evenings, and a beautiful sand bottom is perfect for swimming.

Please explore our site for more photos of the property, testimonials from previous tenants, and information on rates and availability.

Welcome home!
